As parents, we're always looking for ways to encourage our kids to eat healthy, try new foods, and develop a sense of independence in the kitchen.
Our two boys have been folding salami roses and helping us to construct beautiful boards for years. Not only does it give them a sense of independence in the kitchen, but they could, if they wanted, take over for our business in the next few years. (But college first!)
Let's Create a Kid-Friendly Charcuterie Board with a few tips:
Keep it simple: Start with a few simple ingredients like grapes, cheese cubes, and crackers. As they get older, you can add more complex items like meats and spreads.
Involve them in the process: Let your kids help with grocery shopping and selecting the ingredients. This will make them more excited about the final product.
Use kid-friendly foods: Avoid using strong-smelling or pungent ingredients that might be overwhelming for kids. Opt for mild cheeses, fruits, and meats instead.
Make it visually appealing: Use colorful plates or boards and add garnishes like fresh herbs or edible flowers to make the board look appealing.
